“Is not the Lord among us?” I’ve heard this in times past. Yet when I read this, I’m reminded of how wrong I can be sometimes ,how the need to stay close to my creator and His will should be in my mind. I don’t want to be like those in verse:4 who cry to the Lord but He will not hear . I’m so thankful God is loving merciful and willing to forgive when I repent
The whole chapter really emphasize how wicked and terrible those people were being (verses 1-4 especially). To me, verse 11 isn’t an honest mistake—it’s truly abhorrent people with no interest in obeying God believing He’ll grant them favor in spite of everything. Kind of a chilling portrait of what Israel was like at that time!
Wow this entire chapter speaks so much of what is going on in the nations!
It is so humbling to be given the knowledge and understanding that our God gives His people – those who have ears to hear. Such a – not so subtle – call to action for us.
We are truly blessed to know God’s truth. It’s not an easy path, but it’s worth it. And we have one another’s encouragement to endure as we continue our journey toward the Kingdom of God.
What stood out to me is that God, our Lord doesn’t smile down on his people who do not speak up against injustice. If we stay silent we are part of the problem and Micah stood up against evil and all the si called leaders who were doing wrong, that takes courage and strength that only the holy Spirit can give us. Praise God that Jesus left us with this comforter that also gives us this quiet voice within us that says this is not right! This is not what the Bible says! This is not how we are to behave.
This chapter was, indeed, chilling to read. Confirmation that we are responsible for our walk with God – to trust in Him and not in mankind or even in ourselves. To think that God would accept evil-doing and be there when one cries out! God is not a puppet in the hands of mankind to do as we desire. We would create our own problems and cheat ourselves of the love of God if we do as these people did. May we learn the lessons that God desires us to learn, and ensure that our motives are always in alignment with Christ’s, who always did what pleases The Father. I pray that we all conduct our lives, our speech, everything in a manner so that we have God’s ear – that He will listen to our prayers and grant them according to His purpose.

Yes, the positive of verse 14 would be we should love justice and do what is right.
