Off to Camp

Hey everyone!

No Sabbath Thought today, I’m afraid. My wife and I are leaving for Camp Heritage tomorrow morning, and in all the helter-skelter of getting ready, there wasn’t much time to sit down and write. I do have one scheduled to post next week, though.

But hey, as long as you’re here, let me just say that we’d all really appreciate your prayers for a successful week at camp. There’s a mind-boggling amount of planning and effort that goes into making these things happen, but at the end of the day, it’s really only God who can make this week what it needs to be.

So please, pray for the activity staff, pray for the counselors (please oh PLEASE pray for the counselors; it’s been a while and I’m rusty), pray for the leadership, but most of all, pray for the campers. Pray that they’re able to leave camp with a renewed sense of zeal and commitment; pray that they’re able to develop a deeper relationship with their Creator than they’ve ever had; pray that they’re able to see what kind of environment is created when, for one week, everyone around them is taking God’s way of life seriously.

Because, honestly, if they’re able to leave camp with those things, that means we did our jobs and kept ourselves from getting in God’s way. And I can’t think of a better ending to camp.

Until next time,
Jeremy
