    I have read this proverb many times, and I’m always moved by the words in verse:20 . There are many who enjoy going out and having a good time doing things that don’t always shed a good light on themselves. There have been times in my life ,I’ve chosen not to go along with “fun times “ and later was thankful I chose that path. It’s not always easy but I want to be wise and keep the commandments

    Proverbs 13:12 is another usage of the phrase “tree of life.” This one makes me consider prayer. There have been many times I have prayed about a situation, desiring a certain outcome, but the waiting is difficult. Yet, when the prayer gets answered in a clear way, I feel a peace and calm. Additionally, if the tree of life could represent God’s presence with His people, perhaps when a desire comes through an answered prayer we feel God does care for us and is with us.

    Verse 24 is such a key element of parenting. Learning to discipline in the right way, at the right time, for the right reasons—there are big ditches on either side! Excess or absence are both problems, but discipline itself is so vital.

    Verse 11 jumped out at me, but not necessarily specific to wealth. I find that with so many things working for something “little by little” will be much more appreciated and sustained, than something that comes without as much work and comes quickly. When it’s given or comes “hastily” I feel I don’t appreciate it as much and it’s easier to let it go or “dwindle.”

    Three scriptures I am focusing on in this chapter…

    Proverbs 13:4 4 The soul of a lazy man desires, and has nothing;
    But the soul of the diligent shall be made rich.

    Proverbs 13:10 10 By pride comes nothing but strife,
    But with the well-advised is wisdom.

    Proverbs 13:14 14 The law of the wise is a fountain of life,
    To turn one away from the snares of death.

    Oh how we need true godly wisdom! I am looking at this study from the spiritual perspective, especially at this time of self-examination prior to Passover.
    1. To do first things first and not be lazy in prayer, study, fasting, meditation which will all help me with my Fellowship with God the Father, Jesus the Christ, and others.
    2. To strive for a humble perspective and the mind of God.
    3. Growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord, developing His mind within thru His Power in me and becoming wise in God’s perspective so I can better avoid the states of Satan leading to spiritual eternal death.
