The word if causes me to think . If you receive, if you cry out ,if you seek then you understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God. Which means I have to act ! Not just wait for it come . I have to search the scriptures. I have to study and pray and apply the principles I learn.
Yes! I was just about to comment this. Asking God for wisdom isn’t a passive thing—we have to be actively seeking and treasuring and crying out for it. Not enough to say, “Boy, it would be great if You’d make me smart, God!”
Chapter 1 of Proverbs mentioned that discretion is a quality one, especially a young person, should seek to have (Proverbs 1:4). I noticed that if one inclines there ear to wisdom and seeks her as silver, “discretion will preserve you” (Proverbs 2:11). The older I get and hopefully the wiser I get, the more I am learning when not to speak or not to say everything. Not everything edifies or builds up, nor does everyone need to know others information that has been told to me in confidence.

I am striving to age gracefully and accepting that I am entering the winter of my life. Therefore, I have realized the need to count my days.
I still have much to learn and overcome to become the child God wants me to be, to let the Master Potter mold me into the vessel He wants, not what I want to be.
I am grateful to be “of age” and retired. My children are adults, as well as my grandchildren. So I have no excuse to slip away from focusing more on the spiritual aspect of my life. The things that matter most in the long run.
Growing in Wisdom and Discretion is a major part in becoming a balanced Christian acceptable in the eyes of God.
Proverbs 2:10-11 10 When wisdom enters your heart,
And knowledge is pleasant to your soul,

Verse 10b in the NET is interesting: “moral knowledge will be attractive to you.” (“Pleasant” in the NKJV.)
The more we look to God for wisdom, the more that understanding becomes speaking to us—something we increasingly desire and love.
