    This morning verse:8 stood out at me. This time of year the birds are coming back for spring and I often see them nesting in the trees and often in my garage. Once in a while a bird will fly from its nest early in the morning when I turn the light on. It is startled and scared and flies around as if they don’t know where to go or what to do. Sometimes when I return home I see where the cat has made a treat of it or made it a play thing. Which, makes me think of those who leave the safety and security of God. They seem to flounder around acting as if they know what they are doing but often times end up badly hurt or badly hurting others.

    Verse 1 packed a punch for me today. We cannot presume to know what tomorrow will bring. No matter how confident we are we cannot know what tomorrow will bring.

    Sarah and Jacob,

    I agree with you both. Thank you for your comments. We must stay close to the “nest.” However, thankfully we do know what tomorrow will ultimately bring.

    In thIs regard, I was also reflecting on the following verse. For as society grows darker and farther from God’s way, we must hold fast and not get caught up in their foolish. This life is temporary and a training ground for the reality of true life to come. Whether it be politics, protests for a cause, corruption, abuse, etc. Mankind can’t fix this world. Our God is the Master Fixer and His Plan and Desires will stand no matter what we or mankind does.

    Proverbs 27
    12 A prudent man foresees evil and hides himself;
    The simple pass on and are punished.

    Jacob, I thought this was an interesting verse if you consider Matthew 6:34. We’re told not to boast about tomorrow or worry about it. I guess for me that’s such a good reminder that I can’t control tomorrow whether I think I have it all together or not!
