Mark 3
34 And He looked around in a circle at those who sat about Him, and said, “Here are My mother and My brothers!
35 For whoever does the will of God is My brother and My sister and mother.”
When my husband and I were called in to God’s Church, my extended family on my mother’s side turned against me. As time went on, because our beliefs were so different than theirs, we grew rather distant from them – especially because we did not keep their holidays, but keep God’s Sabbath & Holy Days, for we had nothing in common anymore. Family time was so geared to the holidays. I look so forward to the second resurrection when I will see them and they will understand “why.”
In verse 5 it talks about how Jesus was grieved because of the hardness of their heart. I know they didn’t see it that way, but God, who knows our hearts, did. It made me think of IS 55:8, and how I need to pray that Gods ways are becoming my ways, and His thoughts my thoughts. I don’t want the hardness of my heart to grieve God.
