Some use these scriptures to prove an everlasting hell fire…

    Mark 9:42-48
…cast into hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched— 46 where Their worm does not die And the fire is not quenched.’

I vaguely remember hearing or reading something to the effect that this is a fire that cannot be quenched/put out, it will burn until there is nothing combustible left to burn.

Tried to find it on LHT, but this is the closest I could come to:

“These examples foreshadow God’s ultimate destruction of unrepentant sinners at the end of the age: “He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire” (Matthew 3:12).
Fire is also used to describe the trials and adversities that come upon God’s faithful servants (1 Peter 4:12). Like raw metals, Christians require a refining process. Thus, the “furnace of affliction,” or the heat of life’s circumstances, purges our spiritual impurities and brings us to the level of refinement necessary for eternal life (Isaiah 48:10”

    Any insights on this?

I wonder how old the boy was (since his father answered it has happened since childhood) and how aware he was of what was going on. What an awful experience. Every time I read about these people having demons I feel so strongly for them and their families— how Satan must view them as little pawns in his game, treating human life with such disregard. Not any different than today, although it may look differently.

I also love how Christ says to “never enter him again.” What relief his father must have felt.

Also, what does He mean by “this kind”? 😬
